Indian Railways Awarded Different Railway Stations In The Country With ‘Most Beautiful Award’
Recently, Indian Railways has conducted a healthy competition for the most beautiful railway station in the country.  The Ministry of Railways received around 62 entries from 11 Zonal Railways across the country to participate in the competition. To review the entries received, a committee was formed by the ministry that includes a senior railway official.
The competition was organized in order to encourage the cleanliness of the railway stations across the country, which will ultimately improve the tourism and generate employment in railway zones. The competition has successfully been completed and the winners’ list is out. We are sure you will be surprised to see the winners on the list released.

Most beautiful railways stations in India – List
The first prize for the most beautiful station in the country went to the Chandrapur Railway Station and the Balharshah Railway Station in Maharashtra. Both the stations have mesmerizing paintings and skilful installations that are praiseworthy.  They were felicitated by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways in the country.
The second prize was bagged by the ministry to Madurai Railway Station under the Southern Railways and the Madhubani Railways under the East Central Railways. Madurai station depicts the local cultures of Tamil Nadu on its walls and Madhubani paintings have been drawn on Madhubani station to create awareness about the importance of the art form in Bihar state.
For this, approximately, 9,414 square feet area of the station walls has been embellished with more than 160 Madhubani paintings. Surprisingly, the third prize was shared between three Indian railway stations including, Secunderabad Station in Telangana, Gandhidham Station in Gujarat and Kota station in Rajasthan.
Secunderabad station is one of the biggest stations in the country. Every day thousands of people board trains from this station.  The station was decorated with Cheriyal artworks.
Coming to the Kota Railway station, the walls are painted with unique Kota-Bundi style paintings that depict the royal past and heritage of Rajasthan. In the name of awards, the Indian Railways has granted prize money for each of the winners. It has announced the prize money for winners. The prize money for first rank holders is 10 lakhs and the second rank holder will get 5 lakhs while the third rank holder will receive prize money of 3 lakh.

Well, this is a good initiative taken by the Indian Railways, isn’t it?
